Sringaram: Tales of Love – Adelaide Fringe Festival

An intimate dance performance that weaves together the themes of love and desire, exploring the essence of femininity and creating a vibrant tapestry of emotion and movement.

Choreographed in Bharatanatyam—a traditional South Indian dance form—and enhanced by a blend of spoken words and movements, the piece begins with a meditative introduction. The dancer embodies the essence of her identity—grounded, ethereal, and powerful. Fluid movements evoke a sense of self- discovery and inner strength, celebrating the diverse beauty of womanhood.

I relocated to Boorloo/Perth in February 2024 from Ōtepoti/Dunedin, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Recently, I showcased my work in the dance performances ’35: Stories to Stage’ at the Blueroom Theatre, in collaboration with the Centre for Stories and Performing Lines WA, as well as ‘I Am…’ an independent production. I practice and perform Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, two traditional South Indian dance forms.

My performances have taken me across Aotearoa and India, allowing me to explore themes of identity, home, belonging, and feminist narratives within our community. Notable appearances include the Dunedin Fringe Festival (2012, 2016), New Zealand Fringe Festival (2016), Body Festival (2015), Tempo Dance Festival (2016), Dunedin Arts Festival (2021, 2022), and Tahi (2023).
