Sharda Kala Kendra presents Sangeet Sandhya – Melbourne’s premier Hindi music forum where anyone and everyone is welcome to come up and sing or play an instrument. This month’s invited artist is Robbie Kerr, a talented ever-dependable Tabla artist.
He is, however also an accomplished Ghazal singer. He first learned to play the Tabla from his maternal uncle, and then from Ustad Iqbal Niazi and Ustad Shaukat Sahib. His Tabla sangat repertoire spans from vocal and instrumental classical to Kathak to of course, popular music.
