Growing up in Indian culture, most of us know that love has never been as popular as marriage. Even in the movies, the main goal is to get married, and picture khatam (credits roll) as soon as the young couple gets hitched!
Now, with a growing emphasis on individuality and less consideration for society’s norms, also with heteronormativity and gender roles on their way out in today’s age, the idea of love and marriage has definitely undergone a transformation.
So, what do young members of Australia’s Indian community want when it comes to love and dating? I spoke to my fellow twentysomethings to give you an idea.
