NAGALAND
Dolly shares her memories of Nagaland
The ‘wow’ factor about Nagaland is the people and the food. My best memories are about growing up in Nagaland, and the amazing strength and dignity of the people.
In addition, the amazing variety of food Naga people eat is truly another ‘wow’ factor. We eat beef, pork and silkworm without any fear of food fascists or fundamentalists hounding us. Although these food items will never make it to the pages of the typical Indian cookbook, I cherish that Nagaland is a truly exciting and liberating place as far as dietary choices and experiments are concerned. This is the wow factor!
