JHARKHAND
Sushant Goel shares his memories of Jharkhand
Jharkhand acquired statehood after it was carved out of Bihar on 15 November 2000. My state is rich in natural beauty including waterfalls, nature reserves, mountains and forests. Jharkhand is very rich in mineral resources as well, which include mica, iron ore, coal, bauxite, gold and silver. The cities of Tatanagar and Bokaro are home to some of the largest steel plants in India.
Jharkhand also boasts well reputed educational institutions such as Indian School of Mines, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra and various other medical and management institutes. Jharkhand is incomplete without mentioning Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most successful cricket captains of India. I feel very proud to belong to such a rich and well-rounded state.
