According to computer security company McAfee, top Indian celebrities like Tabu, Taapsee Pannu, and Shah Rukh Khan, alongside footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, are some of the riskiest search results in India. This is due to malicious sites and viruses linked to their names online.
Ronaldo has topped this year’s ‘Most Dangerous Celebrity List’ in India. Other big names in the top ten include Bollywood actresses Tabu, Taapsee Pannu, Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sara Ali Khan; singers Armaan Malik and Arijit Singh, and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
While Tabu comes as a surprising result at the second spot, much of this has been attributed to her recent role in Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy.

In 2020, people around the world have been particularly active online, increasing their usage across many devices and scouring the Internet for entertainment sources. Consumers often turn to celebrity news, gossip, and pop culture content, and this is why hackers have adapted their strategies to these key words.
The ways these celebrity searches are dangerous is by malware in illegal streams or downloads, accepting cookies in websites you don’t know, and sharing personal information. There has been a wave of Bollywood movies being released online on OTT platforms due to the pandemic, and many viewers have turned to illegal streaming because of this.
In the US, Anna Kendrick has topped the most of ‘most dangerous’ celebrities, followed by actresses Blake Lively and Julia Roberts, and singer Jason Derulo. In the UK, talk show host Graham Norton got the first spot, followed by actresses Nicole Kidman and Helen Mirren, and actor Hugh Grant.
